| The Visual FoxPro Developer
Conference was awesome! As you might have heard
already, Microsoft showcased the upcoming version
8 of VFP. They also mentioned "Europa",
which is the code name for VFP 9! |
| |
| According to MS, VFP 8 will
be released early next year. The beta version of
VFP 8 was distributed to DevCon attendees. From
what I heard from beta testers and from MS, this
beta is very stable, and VFP 8 should be one of
the most stable releases of VFP. Actually, MS went
as far as saying that the beta version of VFP 8
is more stable than the current version of VFP7!
MS achieved this by performing extensive testing
on the software. |

| During the conference we were
happy to meet top VFP people, including the MS development
team, conference speakers, book authors, many MVPs,
and other VFP products vendors. We even met the
legendary Jeb Long! It was interesting to hear people
next to you talking about objects, SELECT statements,
grids, the new try catch method, and other VFP lingo.
Also, it was interesting to learn about the types
of applications other people developed with VFP. |
